News of what happened in today’s September 1st address by Apple. The event was primarily focused on Apple’s iPod division of products. Changes were announced in iPod Touch/iPhone firmware, iPad firmware, a new iPod Touch, a new iPod Nano, a new iPod Shuffle, a new Apple TV, and a new version of iTunes 10. -iOS 4.1 final will be released, for free, sometime next week. It includes the addition of Game Canter (XBOX Live/PSN for iOS), and a few other aesthetic and technical changes. -iPad OS 4.2 will bring the 4.x features to iPad. In addition, new features known as “Airplay” and “Wireless Printing” will be added. Will be released in November. -The new iPod Touch 4G includes MANY incredible features that the iPhone 4 have. These include: a back and front-facing camera with HD video, Retina Display, and FaceTime. It is available for Pre-Order RIGHT NOW, and will be available to buy next week. -The new iPad Nano will be running iOS firmware, similar to that that runs on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. It includes a multi-touch screen. -The new iPad Shuffle is similar to the previous generation, though now it has combined VoiceOver with the regular physical buttons. -The new Apple TV is 1/4 the size of the previous generation, has HDMI, Ethernet, and power ports, and is shipped with a new remote! -iTunes 10, the newest version of Apple’s music software, has been released, available to download now. Hey I am an Aussie, just baught the ipod touch 4g from the Apple AUS store and looked up the shipping and apparently what i have done is pre ordered it for the release in about 4-5 weeks! problably shoulda seen it comming but its still very lame. The delivery time on the site says 5-7 business days but the estimated delivery date is the 14/9/2010 – 21/9/2010, major kick in the face if it takes that long but if i can get it in 5 weeks by october 6th say, when you buy it you asume you get it now..

@ipodtouch4life165 2nd and 3rd gen basically had no difference, just security and a few minor upgrades. Now 3G and 4G, yes. But your theory was to broad to even be a theory, big difference between the 2? Obviously there would be, if your going to try to make an educated guess on something at least narrow it down so it at least has a purpose. iPhone 4 wasn’t that much of a difference at all really, just firmware (which almost can be on every iPhone) and a design change.

proximity sensor is on the iphone, it’s the sensor that disables the multi-touch screen while the iphone is help close to your ear.

@laughmaster7 yea dude u can take pictures and if u liten closely at 3:11 u here him say front facing CAMERA with back facing CAMERA (WITH) HD video which means its a normal camera WITH a HD video recorder

at 3:11 when it shows the ipod capturing video, the top right of the ipod looks like it has a “record video” to “take picture” switch button, does that mean that the ipod touch 4g can take pictures too? because i have seen the specs and it only says hd video recording… somebody please respond…
